Join the Apostle Build

What's an Apostle Build?
An Apostle Build is when 12 churches join together to fully fund and build ONE house for ONE family.  Just as the 12 apostles were charged with spreading the word about Jesus, our 12 apostles are charged with assisting with Habitat's mission to provide decent shelter for God's children.

How does an Apostle Build Work?

• 12 churches each contribute about $8,000.  This sum covers the cost of building the home.
• 12 churches contribute 6 days of volunteer labor.  This provides the basis of our construction efforts.  In addition, Habitat for Humanity for San Luis Obispo County will host "ecumenical" workdays when members of your church will have an opportunity to work side by side with volunteers from other churches.
• 12 churches contribute lunch for 6 workdays.  That way our volunteers are always well fed.
• If your church is small, you can partner with other churches to form one apostle.

What exactly is required?
Habitat for Humanity for San Luis Obispo County will manage the funds and provide:

• The property
• The family
• Building designs and plans
• Permits
• Site supervision and instruction
• Building materials and supplies
• Insurance
• Organizational expertise
